Trappeto, fishing village

Trappeto is a charming fishing village of about 3,000 inhabitants, located in the heart of the Gulf of Castellammare. Its name derives from "Trappetum cannamelarum", the sugar cane mill that was established here in 1480, testimony to a past rich in history and traditions.

The characteristic horseshoe-shaped harbor is the beating heart of the village, where local fishermen still bring fresh catch every morning. The narrow streets of the historic center are decorated with evocative murals that tell the history and traditions of the territory.

Trappeto's beaches are among the most beautiful on the Palermo coast: Lido Casello, with its golden sand and crystal-clear waters, is the beach closest to the villa, perfect for a day of relaxation.

Trappeto was also chosen as the location for famous Italian films, including "I cento passi" by Marco Tullio Giordana.

Natural paradise to explore

A few kilometers from the villa is the Zingaro Nature Reserve, the first protected area established in Sicily in 1981. Seven kilometers of unspoiled coastline with hidden coves, turquoise waters and unique biodiversity.

San Vito Lo Capo, with its famous white beach and Caribbean sea, is reachable in less than an hour. Here every September the famous Cous Cous Fest takes place.

For history lovers, Segesta with its perfectly preserved Doric temple and Erice, the medieval village perched at 750 meters altitude, offer unforgettable excursions.
